Ascend Components - Our Story

Hi there!

We’re Matt and Michael, the co-founders of Ascend Components, and we’d love to share a bit of our story with you.

Our mission is pretty simple: we’re here to create top-quality products that you can count on, all backed by the kind of service we’d expect ourselves. For us, it’s all about building gear that makes your rides better—whether you’re tackling a steep mountain trail or just out for a weekend spin.

Between the two of us, we’ve spent more than 50 years in the cycling industry. We’ve had the privilege of helping to shape some of the brands you might know and love—Nukeproof, Vitus, Ragley, Prime, Lifeline, and Brand-X—during our time together at WiggleCRC.

When WiggleCRC sadly came to an end in 2023, we saw it as the perfect opportunity to start something new. Now, unshackled from the corporate world, we’re taking everything we’ve learned and all the fantastic relationships we’ve built with top-notch component manufacturers and pouring it into Ascend Components.

We’re a small, independent company, and we’re taking our time to do things right. Our goal isn’t just to make great products, but to have fun while doing it. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just getting started, we hope you’ll join us on this journey.
